# Jimmy — an AI assistant in Telegram for the CALM method

> Jimmy is an AI assistant in Telegram that works on top of Todoist by the CALM method (Change · Area · Level · Mode) of Vasily Chernogorov (Василий Черногоров): every morning it goes through your list of tasks and brings you the Focus — three tasks that close the day. Everything else waits its turn until the evening: zero overdue by morning.

## What Jimmy does

Forty tasks. One morning. Three — and the day is closed.

- **Morning review** — how many tasks there are, what is overdue, what matters today and where to start.
- **Day Focus** — three tasks by the 2+1 rule. Success of the day = the Focus is closed. The next three are the Bonus: made it, and that is good.
- **Evening Closing** — the result without guilt: what is closed, what moves on deliberately. Everything else becomes an honest carry-over; zero overdue by morning.
- **Tasks on the fly** — by text, by voice or from a forwarded message, straight in Telegram.
- **CALM marking and selection** — Jimmy notices Stuck tasks and imbalances, and keeps the list in order rather than in chaos.
- **Works on top of Todoist** — the tasks stay in your own Todoist: no migration, no lock-in.

## The problem it solves

You worked all day — and the list is longer than it was this morning. In the evening you look at everything still undone, and the familiar feeling arrives: didn't get there again. That feeling piles up over weeks — and burns you out worse than any amount of overtime.

You are not lazy. The system is working against you. It is not discipline and it is not you: **an endless list cannot be closed — so no day ever ends in a win**. That is fixed by a system, not by willpower.

| The problem | What Jimmy does |
| --- | --- |
| To see what is going on, you open five windows: the picture of your day is scattered across task manager, mail, calendar, chat apps and notes. | Brings it all into one place, ahead of time, without being asked. Morning — the review and the Day Focus; during the day it captures tasks on the fly; in the evening — the result. |
| The day is over and the thing that mattered is untouched: operations ate it. The urgent shouts louder than the important. | Tells you every morning what matters today and why. What matters goes to the start of the day — before operations can crowd it out. |
| The task list turns into a swamp: zombie tasks drift from day to day for weeks, everything is flagged important. | Notices a task that has been postponed twice and puts it to you straight: tomorrow as Key, the Freezer, or the bin. There is no third postponement. |
| Fifteen tasks for today is not a plan: you will not do them all — and the list says nothing about which ones to do. | Focus — three tasks: Success of the day = the Focus is closed. Bonus — three more: made it, and that is good. Everything else becomes an honest carry-over. Zero overdue by morning. |

## How it works

Three minutes to connect — Jimmy takes it from there.

1. **You give context.** This is the foundation, not a formality: you tell Jimmy about yourself, your business, your goals and your team — what a good day means for you. The connection itself takes a couple of minutes.
2. **You live your day.** The morning starts with the review: what is urgent, what matters, where to start. During the day Jimmy catches new tasks by text, by voice or from a forwarded message. In the evening it sums the day up and turns what you did not do into an honest carry-over.
3. **The system stays honest.** Jimmy notices Stuck tasks and imbalances — and keeps the list in order rather than in chaos. Nothing gets lost or rots at the bottom of the list.

The closed loop of the CALM method:

| When | What happens | What it gives |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Morning | Day Focus | Three main tasks — a day you can actually close |
| Evening | Closing | The result without guilt: what is closed, what moves on deliberately |
| Week | The ritual | The week's results and the plan for the next one — what gets into your days |

The day gets closed; the week decides what gets into the days. Today Jimmy lives in Telegram; a web version is on the way. Tasks live in Todoist — a free task manager that stays yours even if you switch Jimmy off: no migration, no lock-in.

## Accumulated context

A chat starts from a blank page every time: you explain again who you are, what you do and what matters to you. An assistant does not work that way — it accumulates context. Every day of work adds a layer, and the choice gets more precise.

| When | What accumulates | Status |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Start | Who you are and where you are going: what you do, your goals and focuses, who is on the team, what a good day means for you | working |
| Every day | A marked portfolio: tasks get their four CALM coordinates. After a month this is an honest picture of where the time goes and what actually moves you forward | working |
| Over time | Your decisions: what you accepted, what you swapped, what you moved — and why. Jimmy offers less of what you usually turn down | in development |
| Later | Personal rules: patterns it notices become rules, but only the ones you approve. The list is open in full and any rule can be deleted — the method calls this the glass box | in development |

The method can be read in one evening — it is open in full. Accumulated context cannot be read: it is only earned with time. The earlier you start, the sharper Jimmy will be — and the less you will have to explain.

## Two modes, three levels in each

Start simple, go deeper when you are ready. Every level is free right now — early access runs on invite codes.

Personal mode:

| Level | What is inside |
| --- | --- |
| Helper (basic) | Every morning the review of the day and what matters today; in the evening — the result. Tasks by text. |
| Assistant (popular) | Everything in Helper, plus voice tasks and the CALM method: four answers for every task. |
| Personal assistant (maximum) | Everything in Assistant, plus the weekly ritual and analytics: how many days you closed, whether you are moving forward or only holding your position, and whether life — not just work — ever gets into your days. |

Team mode (pilots by request):

| Level | What is inside |
| --- | --- |
| Team · Helper (basic) | A helper for everyone on the team, plus the picture for the manager: who is working on what, what is closed, what is stalled. Assigning owners, tasks by text. |
| Team · Assistant (for pilots) | Everything in Team · Helper, plus voice and the CALM method for the whole team: one set of marking rules — one shared language for tasks. |
| Team · Personal assistant (maximum) | Everything in Team · Assistant, plus the weekly CALM ritual and analytics per person and for the team: where the team loses pace, who is overloaded, what gets stuck. |

## The CALM method — the essence

A to-do list is endless — a closed day is finite and honest. CALM asks four questions of every task and every morning assembles the Day Focus out of the answers: three tasks you can close — and win the day.

| Axis | Question | Values |
| --- | --- | --- |
| C — Change | Does it move you forward or hold your position? | Grow · Stay |
| A — Area | Work or life? | Work · Life |
| L — Level | How important is it that this task gets done? | Key · Important · Regular |
| M — Mode | Whose next move is it? | Do · Delegated · Waiting |

Rule 2+1: **Two tasks hold your today. One builds your tomorrow.**

**4 questions · 3 tasks · 1 closed day.** The method turns an endless to-do list into a series of closed days.

CALM here is a task management method — Change · Area · Level · Mode — created by Vasily Chernogorov (Василий Черногоров). It is not the Calm meditation app, not SAP Cloud ALM and not the Coordinated Anxiety Learning and Management protocol.

## Turnkey rollout for teams

A format for teams of 5 to 30 people. The point of a rollout is that within two weeks your team settles into the system and stays there: we take the manager through an interview, set up the task system, train the team and stay close through the first weeks.

1. **Interview** — goals, roles, how the flow of tasks works today.
2. **Setup** — the task system, one set of marking rules, the rhythm of the week.
3. **Launch** — the team starts living in the system, a short training for everyone.
4. **Support** — we fine-tune alongside you, answer questions, calibrate to the team.

## Who made Jimmy

Vasily Chernogorov (Василий Черногоров) — twenty years running businesses hands-on, as the one who answers for the result: teams, deals, projects in several countries, in recent years distributed between Dubai, Asia and Europe. He is the author of the CALM method — the one built into Jimmy.

With all that experience of running companies, he admitted something honest to himself: his own system for managing himself was failing. Operations ate the day, strategic tasks stood untouched for months, and in the evening all that was left was guilt over what had not been done. The method grew out of that: CALM was built as a personal operating system. Jimmy did not start as a startup idea but as a working tool built for the author first — and only then opened to others. The method is open in full, the canon is versioned, the self-test runs daily.

## Frequently asked

- **How is Jimmy different from ChatGPT?** You can paste your list into a chat and get one-off advice from someone who forgets everything by tomorrow. Jimmy is not a chatbot but an assistant with memory and a rhythm: it knows your goals and context, sees tasks over time, remembers what you postponed and why, and comes to you every morning without being asked.
- **How does Jimmy know what matters to you?** From three sources: the setup when you connect (goals, roles, what a good day means for you), the CALM marking of your tasks plus dates and projects, and learning from your decisions. The final word is always yours — Jimmy proposes, you decide.
- **I use Notion, Asana or plain notes, not Todoist.** Right now Jimmy works on top of Todoist; a free account takes a couple of minutes and we will help you set it up. Integrations with other systems are on the roadmap.
- **Is this yet another task manager?** No. Jimmy does not store your tasks and does not make you migrate — the list stays in Todoist. It solves a different problem: not "where do I keep my tasks?" but "which of them do I do today?"
- **What happens to your data?** Jimmy connects to Todoist with a personal token you can revoke at any time. The analysis runs on the Claude API (Anthropic), and voice messages are transcribed by Whisper (OpenAI); the audio is not stored. The data is not used for model training. We store the minimum: your settings and the context you gave Jimmy yourself. Nothing is published. The only data that leaves us is what Jimmy cannot work without: it goes to Anthropic and OpenAI for processing, and a request sent through the form on this site goes to Formspree, which delivers it. It is not used for model training, and both delete what was sent within 30 days. The full list is in the privacy policy. Privacy policy: https://heyjimmy.ai/privacy (in Russian)
- **What does it cost?** Nothing right now: early access is free for the first 50 users by invite code. Early users get their price locked in when the paid version opens.
- **And for a team?** Jimmy for Teams is on the way: a personal assistant for every employee plus a daily and weekly picture for the manager, without reports and micromanagement. Pilot teams are onboarded personally; for a faster and deeper start there is the turnkey rollout.
- **What is the CALM method?** Four questions for every task, a day matrix and the 2+1 rule, which together assemble the Day Focus every morning — three tasks. Success of the day = the Focus is closed. The next three are the Bonus.
- **How is CALM different from the Eisenhower matrix?** A 2×2 matrix answers "what is important and what is urgent" and leaves you with four quadrants of tasks. In the Eisenhower matrix importance is an unbounded judgement: anything can be called important. In CALM importance has a scale — Key · Important · Regular — and a budget: no more than 10 Key at a time. So "is this task important?" turns into "is it more important than that one?" And the method does not stop at sorting: it assembles a day you can close. Focus 3, Bonus 3, zero overdue by morning.
- **Does CALM work without Jimmy?** Yes. The method does not depend on the tool: four coordinates and a date — it works in any tracker and even on paper. Task selection is a function of the marking, not an opinion: the same list gives the same day to anyone. What Jimmy does is make the method effortless.

## Early access

Jimmy is in closed testing: the first 50 users get full access free of charge by invite code. In return we ask for one thing — honest feedback. When the paid version opens, the price for early users stays locked in for good.
