## Where the method came from

For twenty years Vasily Chernogorov has run businesses hands-on — as the one who answers for the result: teams, deals, projects in several countries, and for the last few years distributed between Dubai, Asia and Europe.

With all that experience of running companies, he eventually had to be honest with himself: his own system for managing himself was failing. Operations ate the day, strategic tasks stood untouched for months, and what was left in the evening was guilt over what had not been done.

The method was born at that point. CALM was assembled as the author's own operating system — and he lives by it every day: his morning Focus is put together by the same algorithm that will put together yours.

**The method turns an endless to-do list into a series of closed days.**

## How the method evolves

CALM is not a one-off publication but a living method with a versioned canon. The first version appeared on 22 July 2026; the canon in force is v1.3.8 of 7 August 2026. Every change is dated and recorded in the version history.

The method is open in full: the complete canon is published under the CC BY 4.0 license — it can be freely used, translated and adapted with attribution. The self-test runs daily: a rule that does not survive a real day gets rewritten instead of staying in the text for the sake of elegance.

## Jimmy — the method as an assistant

Jimmy did not start as a startup idea but as a working tool the author built for himself first and opened to others only afterwards. The assistant lives in Telegram, works on top of Todoist, and every morning assembles the Day Focus by the same algorithm the canon describes. It is in early access — free for the first 50 users by invite code: https://heyjimmy.ai/en

For teams the author puts the same system in place as a turnkey rollout: one set of marking rules, one task language, and a picture for the manager without reports — https://heyjimmy.ai/en/implementation
